PANews reported on April 12 that according to Jiwei.com, since the first quarter of this year, Bitmain has begun to implement employee structure and salary reforms, and has added "age points" when conducting performance appraisals. Above the base age, the older you are, the more points you will deduct. many. Some employees involved believed that this move violated labor laws and said they would take up legal weapons to defend their rights.

Wang Wei, a Bitmain employee, told Jiwei.com that in the latest salary adjustment plan, the original fixed salary was adjusted into two parts: basic salary + performance salary, and performance salary is linked to rank, with three levels of performance: T3x, T4x, and T5x. The salary proportions are 30%, 50% and 70% respectively. During performance appraisal, the final score is also linked to age. If the age exceeds the baseline, performance points will be deducted.

According to an industry insider's analysis, Bitmain's revenue in 2022 may exceed US$10 billion. Therefore, funding issues should not be the main reason for Bitmain’s salary reform.

According to previous news, Bitmain was fined nearly 25 million yuan by the Beijing Taxation Bureau for tax violations.
