Profile | Wei Dai
What: Wei Dai was the original developer of Crypto++, an open-source C++ cryptography library. Its first version was released in 1995.
Why: The b-money concept envisioned a ledger maintained collectively by a group of pseudonymous participants, with new money generated by solving computational puzzles. Similar ideas can later be seen in Bitcoin.
Note: Early cryptographers’ names are often used for new tokens. Don’t follow the trend unless the name is actually related to the project.
