Just a few days after Republicans suffered a major defeat in the U.S. midterm elections, divisions within Trump’s political circle began to emerge more clearly.
And the most interesting part? Some of the criticism is coming from people who are supposed to be on his side.
1️⃣ J.D. Vance distances himself from the Iran war
The U.S. vice president publicly blamed the war with Iran for the Republican Party’s election losses.
His message was unusually direct:
“The reason we lost is the war.”
Vance also reminded the audience that he had previously called for an end to the conflict.
This is particularly interesting because Vance may have ambitions of his own for the 2028 presidential election.
Has he started laying the groundwork for a future beyond the Trump era?
2️⃣ Marco Rubio — Rumors of His Departure
Reports have suggested that Secretary of State Marco Rubio may leave the administration and could be preparing to launch a 2028 presidential campaign.
But Rubio denied that he intends to resign, saying he plans to remain in his position until the end of Trump’s term.
Still, the speculation itself shows just how much attention has already shifted to the post-Trump political future.
3️⃣ Trump’s Support Comes Under Pressure
Before the election, a Pew Research Center poll found that only 30% of Americans approved of Trump’s job performance as president, while 68% disapproved.
The election results delivered another serious warning
Voters are increasingly concerned about the cost of living, the war with Iran, and the direction of the country.
But here’s the important point:
Democratic victories in both chambers of Congress don’t mean Trump has lost his presidential powers.
He is still president.
He still controls the executive branch and retains broad powers over foreign policy and military decisions.
Democrats can investigate his administration, block legislation, challenge his agenda, and make governing much more difficult.
But they can’t simply stop everything Trump wants to do.
🌍 What Does This Mean for the World and Crypto?
For Ukraine, Iran, China, and America’s allies, this situation adds another layer of uncertainty.
Trump may face stronger domestic resistance, but that doesn’t necessarily mean his foreign policy will be more moderate
For crypto, political divisions could make it harder to pass important legislation on digital assets and stablecoins.
This uncertainty could affect the sector’s broader regulatory environment.
My view:
The biggest political story is no longer just the Democrats’ election victories.
It’s the possibility that Trump’s own political coalition is entering a period of internal conflict.
Vance is looking to the future, Rubio is facing speculation about his ambitions, and Trump is dealing with a Congress he no longer controls.
But don’t confuse political weakness with a loss of power.
The next two years could be a much bigger political battleground than many expected.
If you made it this far, a like and subscribe would mean a lot to me.
