【Morning Brief】AI stock plunge drags down crypto market; BTC gives back election gains overnight
According to CoinGecko, Aju Press and other sources, AI and semiconductor stocks were sold off on Wall Street on Thursday, with the Nasdaq closing down about 5.5% and Nvidia falling more than 9%. The crypto market weakened in tandem: BTC retreated from above $80,000 to around $75,700 (down about 5.6% in 24 hours), ETH fell nearly 8% to around $2,230, and XRP and SOL dropped 6% to 7%.
Data from CoinGlass shows that about $1.26 billion in leveraged positions were liquidated over 24 hours, with long positions accounting for about 89%. Separately, after three consecutive days of outflows, U.S. spot BTC ETFs saw net inflows of $74.6 million on November 4, though the funds appear to have rotated between products. In addition, Aave will vote today on a proposal to accept Babylon’s native BTC as collateral.
