Altcoins move first—a signal from the fear zone. The Fear and Greed Index has recovered from 26 yesterday to 34. $BTC has climbed above 78,500, up 2.43% in 24 hours with 1.149 billion U in trading volume; $ETH is up 2.91% to 2,322.76, with 448 million U in volume. The figures look moderate, but there’s a clear divergence beneath the surface.

First, the top gainers. $ZEC is up 14.04% with 208 million U in trading volume, making it the standout among those outside the top three by volume. NEAR is up 6.99% with 100 million U in volume; PEPE is up 8.32%, UNI 5.82%, and SUI 5.58%. It’s worth noting that altcoins are moving more than Bitcoin in the fear zone.

Now for the larger coins. SOL is up just 1.52%, BNB is up 1.30%, and TRX only 0.15%. In other words, this isn’t a broad-based rally—money is selectively flowing in: hot coins are leading the gains, while the heavyweight coins are following along.

My take: The fact that people rush in as soon as the Fear Index ticks up a little shows that sidelined capital is highly sensitive. But $BTC still has the highest trading volume, and if it turns back down, altcoins will give back their gains even faster. So this looks more like sentiment recovering than a confirmed trend.

Watch two things: First, can $BTC hold today's low of 75,736? Second, can $ETH 's trading volume rise above 448 million U? Only if both conditions are met will a catch-up rally have a solid foundation.

What do you think: Is this the start of an altcoin rotation, or just a one-day bounce in fear territory? Share your reasoning in the comments.
