75 seconds → 25 seconds. $ZEC Tomorrow, block times are set to get 3x faster.
First, the market: ZEC is at $1,248 today, up 10.56% in 24h, with about 192 million USDT in trading volume. It ranks 4th in spot trading, behind only BTC, ETH, and stablecoins. The 8-day trend is typical: a spike to 1,311 on 10/28 followed by a pullback, a dip to 1,135 on 11/2, and a rebound to 1,248 today. Funds are positioning ahead of the upgrade.
What exactly is changing in the upgrade (according to the Zcash Foundation and public reports):
• Block intervals drop from 75s to 25s; block rewards are divided by 3, while daily issuance stays the same, as do the halving schedule and the 21 million cap
• 60% of fees go into the reserve (NSM); miners keep only 40%
• v4 transactions become invalid, and funds still in the Sprout pool will become inaccessible
• Nodes must upgrade to Zebra 7.0.0. Activation is triggered at block 3,543,405; 11/5–6 is only an estimate
My take: The upgrade itself is a “known positive,” and the market has already traded on it. 1,311 is resistance; 1,135 is near-term support. Only a high-volume move above 1,311 would signal a new leg higher. A drop back below 1,200 would mean “buy the rumor, sell the news.” $BTC is consolidating around 77,800, $ETH 2,295. ZEC is currently the strongest independent move among major coins, but also the most volatile, so size your position accordingly.
Where do you think ZEC will be 24 hours after activation—above 1,311 or below 1,135? Pick a side in the comments.
