SUI isolated margin leverage capped at 5x; existing positions still need to be rechecked

Binance’s October 27 announcement lists an adjustment to SUIUSDT isolated margin leverage, scheduled to take effect at 16:00 Beijing time on November 10: the maximum leverage will be reduced from 10x to 5x. This applies to isolated margin, not SUI perpetual contracts, and the change has not taken effect today.

One detail that’s easy to miss is in the second half of the announcement: related liquidation risk rate and other parameters will also be adjusted to use the risk parameters for the 5x maximum leverage tier. Don’t assume that existing borrowings and positions automatically become safer just because the leverage limit is lower.

The official tiered-margin FAQ distinguishes between two things: the tier corresponding to the borrowing amount affects the maximum available leverage, while the liquidation risk rate is a separate parameter. So the leverage figure shown on screen is no substitute for a complete risk check.

If you have a relevant isolated margin account, check the product name, borrowings and interest, the account’s current risk rate, and the liquidation threshold that will apply after the change. This post does not provide an individual liquidation price or present a general FAQ table as your real-time parameters. Refer to the latest announcement, the isolated margin tier page, and the information shown in your account.

This is a rules reminder, not a recommendation to open additional trades or increase leverage in response to the change. Applicability may vary by region and account.
