Solana has gone 1,000 days without a chain outage. I’ll give it that—it’s no small feat. Since the incident in February 2024, average monthly DEX volume has doubled, the number of transactions has doubled, and the number of traders has grown sixfold. The chain hasn’t gone down since (SolanaFloor data). This is the same chain that used to suffer outages every few weeks and get mocked across the internet. The engineering team deserves a “well done” for making it this far.

But don’t let the “100% uptime” flooding your feed mislead you.

No chain outage ≠ 100% availability. Congestion, failed transactions, and priority fees skyrocketing to absurd levels don’t count as a “halt”—they don’t even show up in the stats. Even toly himself joked that the network is “100% usable 99.5% of the time.” If even the founder won’t claim perfection, it’s pretty rich for KOLs to claim it on his behalf.

And here’s something more practical: SOL fell from over $120 to around $92 in a month, a drop of more than 20%. 1,000 days of stability is a passing grade, not a reason to buy. Exchanges and market makers need the chain not to break; your account needs the price to go up. Those are two different things.

The funniest part is that some account with a few dozen followers posted “BREAKING 1000 DAYS” on X on the very first day, with three emojis, and got double-digit views. Celebrate all you want, but don’t use a passing grade for infrastructure as a signal to buy.
