Why can it take several days to withdraw from a Layer 2 back to the Ethereum mainnet?
This is how I understand it: Layer 2s save money by bundling many transactions together and posting them to the mainnet, so the mainnet costs are shared among many people.
ZK Rollups use zero-knowledge proofs to show the mainnet that transactions are valid, so withdrawals don't have to wait through such a long challenge period.
What I do: When depositing or withdrawing, I make sure to check which network I've selected. Assets on the same address are separate across different networks.
$ARB is the governance token for the Layer 2 Arbitrum. Current price: 0.1707.
