#BNBChain BSC is already very fast, so why is BNB Chain building another L1? 🤔 Because high-frequency trading needs more than just speed—it needs stability and predictability.
When a meme takes off, the whole network gets congested, and liquidations and oracles can get stuck. For order books and Perp DEXs, that’s fatal.
Put simply, the new L1’s solution comes down to three things:
1️⃣ 200 ms block times, around 20 ms pre-confirmation, and final confirmation within 1 second
2️⃣ Ordering doesn’t wait for consensus, and execution runs separately, reducing queues
3️⃣ The public Mempool is removed to reduce front-running; account abstraction and private transactions are built directly into the protocol layer
BSC won’t be replaced. It will continue to run DeFi and meme activity, while the new chain focuses on high-performance trading. The two chains will be connected by a native cross-chain bridge.
CZ also confirmed that the new chain won’t issue a new token. In his words, “Multiple chains, one coin”: Gas, staking, and governance will all use $BNB.
Put simply, this chain is targeting the high-performance on-chain trading market that Hyperliquid has already established. Hyperliquid grew its Perp DEX with a custom-built chain; BNB Chain now plans to use the same approach to bring a CEX-level trading experience on-chain.
It’s currently in the internal Devnet phase, with a testnet planned for the end of 2026 and mainnet for early 2027. Its performance remains to be validated. #CZ
