After a transaction is broadcast but before it’s on-chain, where does it wait?
When the mempool is full, nodes first clear out transactions with the lowest fee rates. Transactions with fees that are too low may also be pushed out of the mempool.
“Child Pays for Parent” (CPFP) means spending the output of a stuck transaction to create a new transaction with a high fee. For miners to include the new transaction in a block, they must include the original transaction as well.
The most important thing to remember when managing your positions: if a transaction gets stuck, don’t rush to send another transfer. Consider replacing the transaction fee (RBF) or using Child Pays for Parent (CPFP) first.
