Green CVD → enter a trade → get trapped. Sound familiar? BTC showed us why this morning.
Net aggressive buying over the past 24 hours was around 874 BTC — buyers were clearly more active. But the price is still hovering around 82,000 — yesterday it was rejected at 83,158, just below the 83,200 sell zone.
CVD can’t see the wall of sell orders already waiting above. It only records who’s acting — not who’s waiting to block them. Heavy buying with no price movement means someone above is steadily selling into it.
24-hour liquidations: longs lost $18 million, while shorts lost just $7.4 million. More of them — and more pain, too. The long/short ratio is 1.71: the crowd is still betting on a rise.
Green CVD with a stalled price — don’t call that strength. Buying pressure is being absorbed.
What would make me reconsider? A 4H candle closing above 83,200 while aggressive buying remains net positive — then I’d reassess. But if 81,200 breaks, assume buying pressure has been fully absorbed — sellers are driving the price down.
Next time CVD is green but the price goes nowhere, which way would you lean — are buyers accumulating, or are they being absorbed?
