Crypto | Whale Activity | October 19
I took a look at major holders’ positions on BSC today and found a few new whales. Take a look:
CCNN1Wcqyh: major holders own 97.18%; up 6,871% in 24h—that’s 68x. Market cap is only a little over 4 million.
0x000c0dee: major holders own 97.43%; up 283% in 24h.
Two tokens from 0xc35ef056 have market caps of 700 million to 1.4 billion, and both surged over 60% in 24h, with major-holder concentration above 96%.
That’s what real whale control looks like. But I have to say, data like this appearing for the first time should make you cautious:
1. A high share of low-frequency holders could mean a genuine concentration of tokens—or a newly launched project looking for exit liquidity.
2. A massive one-day pump can be a sign of an impending crash. I’ve seen CCNN surge 68x in a day plenty of times—the next candle will very likely give back more than 50%.
The one to be wary of is 0x0667873e: market cap of 2.5 billion, major holders own 95.71%, but it’s down 26.55% in 24h. This is a textbook distribution at the top, with retail investors left holding the bag. Trying to buy the dip will probably mean catching a falling knife.
Honestly, I’ve been burned by this before. Last year, I saw major holders owned 90% and jumped in. The next day, they dumped hard, and I was stuck holding the bag for three days.
The broader market is holding up: BTC is steady at 82,787, ETH hasn’t moved at 2,436, and SOL has bounced back a bit to 105.
Are these newly discovered whales worth following? Let’s discuss in the comments.
