Stablecoins have truly entered the mainstream this time: On October 15, Visa announced that its USDC-prefunded cross-border payments service had officially moved from pilot to commercial launch. Its first partner, payment platform Inyo Global, serves more than 180 countries.

The process is simple: Businesses can top up their Visa Direct payout balance with USDC anytime, 24/7, without being constrained by bank hours. Cross-border transfers arrive almost instantly. In a seven-day test with the UK’s Lloyds Bank last month, payment obligations totaling $750,000 were settled in under an hour, with no delays over the weekend.

My take: Visa is no longer calling it a “pilot”—it’s calling it “commercial.” Stablecoins are taking on the work of financial infrastructure, not just fueling a hype narrative. $USDC is now firmly established as a practical-use case representative.

Just my personal opinion; not investment advice.
