Taking a look at the market on Saturday at noon, barely a third of coins are in the green. This kind of soul-crushing action really makes you want to shut your laptop. According to this afternoon’s data, $BTC is trading around 81,562, while $ETH is stuck at 2,428. Just 26.3% of assets are up, and the Fear & Greed Index is holding at 55. Earlier, SoSoValue reported that Bitcoin spot ETFs saw net outflows of $82.3893 million on October 16, U.S. time, with both BlackRock and Fidelity shedding holdings. No wonder the market feels so listless and flimsy today.

Take $NEAR , currently trending on the charts: it’s hovering at 5.09, with $151.6M in trading volume over the past 24 hours. But compared with the previous day, volume has shrunk by about 30%. On the 1-hour chart, the price can’t even get back above the MA7, and the short-term structure has clearly broken down. The RSI14 is stuck right at the neutral 50 mark, neither up nor down—pretty much like me on a Saturday afternoon when I haven’t had enough to eat. Price is just shuffling between the 4.92 low and the 5.36 high. Neither bulls nor bears can get the upper hand, and it’s frustrating to watch.

Looking at how $BTC is performing, the long/short ratio is holding at 1.71 and the funding rate is +0.0100%. Longs may look lively on paper, but in reality there’s no fresh money willing to step in and buy. I think the overall short-term outlook remains weak. Unless the price breaks through the 5.36 resistance on strong volume, this slow, grinding sideways action is likely to continue. If it falls below support at 4.92, I’d advise you to take the loss, close all your long positions, and enjoy the holiday. Just my opinion—DYOR.

Do you usually spend the weekend staring at the charts and fuming, or just close the app and slack off on the clock?
