【BNB is down 47% from its high. I saw this exact same pattern at the end of 2018】
At the end of 2018, a friend of mine sold off most of his BNB holdings. The reason was simple: it had fallen more than 70% from its peak, and he was wondering, “Is Binance about to collapse?”
What happened next? In the 2019 rally, BNB rose nearly fourfold from its low to its high. My friend never brought it up when we met later, but I still remember the look on his face.
Now BNB is back in that range: down 46.8% from its all-time high, and nearly 2% lower over the past seven days. Is this the bottom? I won’t use the word “bottom”—it’s too early for that. But one thing I can say is that historically, whenever BNB has fallen into this drawdown range, it has been a value zone that long-term investors start watching.
Some people might ask: Isn’t BNB just Binance stock? What real support could it have?
Not quite. BNB has long been more than just an exchange token. It’s used for IEO launches, DeFi staking, and increasingly, real-world consumer use cases. I’ve worked with a few Web3 projects, and they told me that BNB is used to settle gas fees on BNB Chain and to anchor some RWA assets. These things don’t show up on the candlesticks in market apps, but they represent real business activity.
In my view, the key questions for BNB right now aren’t about technical analysis. There are two things: whether Binance itself can maintain regulatory compliance, and whether the RWA sector can truly take off. If both of those things work out, BNB’s current price is a window of opportunity for patient investors.
Of course, I’m not telling you to go buy it right now. Everyone has a different risk tolerance.
I just want to say this: at times like these, there are always more people panicking than taking action. By the time everyone starts talking again about how much BNB has risen, the opportunity will already be gone.
Did you experience BNB’s last cycle from a major drawdown to a new all-time high? What are you planning to do this time?
