BTC bounced back from around $80,000, but I’m now hesitant to rush into a bullish stance

When I was watching the market yesterday, what mattered most to me wasn’t how far BTC had fallen, but whether buyers were willing to step in after the drop.

As of October 16, public market reports showed BTC briefly falling below $80,000 before rebounding to around $82,000. Inflation pressures, interest rate expectations, and financing risks in the AI industry could all affect investors’ risk appetite. A market rebound doesn’t mean the risks are behind us.

I think the easiest mistake to make right now is seeing one big green candle and assuming the bull market is back.

If BTC can hold key support and trading volume picks up, the rebound will be more convincing. If the price rises without a noticeable improvement in volume, or quickly falls back to a key level, it could just be short-term buyers covering their positions.

I’ll be keeping an eye on three things next:

1️⃣ Can BTC hold the price range it reached after the rebound?

2️⃣ Can ETH and major altcoins keep up, rather than BTC rising on its own?

3️⃣ After macroeconomic data is released, will market expectations for interest rates continue to shift?

In my view, what’s really worth doing isn’t trying to guess the bottom, but waiting for the market to give a clearer signal.

Do you think this BTC rebound is the start of a new rally, or just a breather during the decline?
