Odaily Planet Daily reports: Solana Foundation President Lily Liu posted on X in response to the postponement of the Shanghai event, saying that following promotional activities such as the light show on the exterior of the Citibank Tower in Shanghai’s Lujiazui district, registrations for the Solana Shanghai event quadrupled overnight, far exceeding the attendance cap reported to local government departments.

Lily Liu said that because it would be difficult to control the crowds that might show up, the team had decided to postpone the event in order to comply with local requirements. It will be held at a later date, once the team is better equipped to accommodate attendees.

She also said that the Solana light show on the evening of October 14 was intended to show appreciation for and recognize the Chinese community, and apologized to everyone who had planned to attend the event.
