#KOSPICloses7.57%LowerTriggeringCircuitBreaker

Today, the KOSPI closed down 7.57% at 5,554.22 points, marking its seventh consecutive day of losses. Circuit breakers were triggered for the 10th time this year. The causes cited include poor U.S. inflation data, fears of rising interest rates, and doubts about AI investment. (South Korea's KOSPI closes at 6-month low as chipmakers slump on AI worries +2)

Why should crypto traders pay attention?

1. Same investors, same risk

There is no direct causality between the KOSPI and crypto. Analysts say the connection is mainly due to the same group of investors. In a risk-off mood, both markets can come under pressure. (bitcoin)

2. Leverage is the real danger

During a previous downturn, Bitcoin fell further as investors moved away from risky assets, and liquidations of leveraged positions intensified the decline. In other words, leveraged traders are the first to get wiped out during big moves. (cryptoslate)

3. The pattern isn’t always the same

In July, crypto held up even when the KOSPI suffered two major drops within a week, suggesting the relationship between Bitcoin and AI stocks may be weakening. So it’s not wise to assume that “if the KOSPI falls, BTC will definitely fall too.” (bitcoin)
