Ledger said it is developing Atom, a device that looks and functions more like a smartphone than a traditional crypto hardware wallet, with release scheduled for mid-2027. According to CoinDesk, Atom will run Android apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok, switch into a protected mode for managing digital assets, and include tamper-resistant enclosures, sensors and packaging aimed at preventing supply-chain attacks like the CryptoBilis breach. Ledger plans to sell Atom first through its website and will not offer trade-ins for affected customers.
