CPI data has been released, and the market was already weakening steadily. Will it move in one direction from here?

Last night, U.S. September CPI came in at around 3.7% year over year, above expectations. The market has since started pricing in a rate hike in October. There won’t be any major inflows of buying support in the short term; buyers will just be left holding the bag.

There’s also the ongoing liquidation of highly leveraged positions in the market, which has led to a second intraday drop. Isn’t this a chance to short the rebound?
