$BTC Bitcoin Below $83K: Inflation Just Changed the Market’s Mood.

The biggest risk for Bitcoin right now isn’t just selling pressure. It’s the possibility that interest rates stay higher for longer.

September U.S. CPI came in at 3.7% year over year, above the 3.6% forecast. Core CPI reached 2.6%, while energy prices surged 5.2% in September. Bitcoin fell below $83,000 following the release. The inflation surprise has strengthened expectations of further Federal Reserve tightening.

Here’s what I think the market is getting wrong: a Bitcoin dip is not automatically a buying opportunity just because the long-term thesis remains intact.

When inflation refuses to cool, investors have to reconsider how quickly monetary policy can ease. Higher rates can support the dollar, increase the appeal of yield-bearing assets, and reduce the liquidity available for speculative investments like crypto.

But there’s another side to this. Energy-driven inflation doesn't guarantee a rate hike, and market expectations can change quickly. The important question is whether inflation pressures spread beyond energy and remain persistent.

For BTC, I’m watching whether buyers can reclaim lost levels and whether selling pressure continues after the initial macro shock. Until the market shows stabilization, aggressive dip-buying looks premature to me.

No confirmed trade to report here. My focus is on price confirmation, liquidity, and the next signals from the Fed.

Am I reading this wrong, or is the market still underestimating the inflation risk?
