STRK at $0.086—are you brave enough to buy the dip?

It surged from $0.05 to $0.126 in just four days, then got slammed back to $0.086 in two. Everyone’s shouting “L1 + quantum-resistant tech is taking off,” but with an unlock the day after tomorrow and CPI tomorrow, are you buying the bottom—or somewhere halfway down?

First: The L1 narrative is still just something they’re “considering”
At Token2049 on October 8, StarkWare’s Eli Ben-Sasson said they were considering becoming an independent L1 instead of an Ethereum L2, with the goal of building the first quantum-resistant network by 2027.
The market priced that statement in immediately. STRK surged from around $0.05 to $0.126 in a few days.
But it’s only “under consideration.” There’s been no governance approval, no migration timeline, and no mainnet launch date.
This rally is a valuation repricing, not a sudden change in fundamentals. At $0.12, the story was already partly priced in.

Second: 127 million tokens unlock on October 15, and leverage could amplify the selling pressure
The day after tomorrow, October 15, around 127 million STRK will unlock—3.4% of the circulating supply, worth a little over $10 million at current prices.
After the sharp rally, futures positions are crowded, funding rates are positive, and longs are stacked up.
An unlock at this point—even if only a little over $10 million hits the market—could trigger a cascade of liquidations.
The negative catalyst isn’t huge, but when it comes at the wrong time, it can be a bombshell.

Third: There’s no macro tailwind, and CPI is tomorrow
BTC is trading between $82,000 and $84,000, while spot ETFs saw significant outflows last week. The 10-year Treasury yield is at 5.2%, making liquidity conditions extremely unfriendly for high-beta altcoins.
Tomorrow, October 14, the U.S. CPI report comes out.
The Fed already raised rates once in September, and the market is wavering between “pause in October” and “hike again in December.” If CPI comes in hotter than expected, a highly volatile coin like STRK will be among the first to get cut.

Trading strategy
Short term (before the unlock):
0.082 is today’s line in the sand. If it can’t reclaim that level on a 1-hour close, the next zone to watch is 0.074–0.078, with 0.065 as the next level if it weakens further.
If it rebounds to 0.093–0.096 but volume fails to pick up and it prints another long upper wick, that’s a place to reduce your position or go short, with a stop above 0.10.
Only a high-volume 4-hour close above 0.10 would show that buyers have absorbed the sell-off. Then watch 0.11/0.12.
On and after unlock day:
If it drops to 0.074–0.078—or even 0.065—on the 15th, while BTC holds its levels, you could try a small position for a rebound. Set your stop 4%–5% below your entry low; first target 0.088, then 0.096.
If it doesn’t drop on unlock day and instead rallies straight through 0.10, that means spot buyers absorbed the selling pressure. Follow the move then—don’t try to predict it in advance.
If it closes below 0.05 on the daily chart, this L1 narrative trade is over. It’s back to a bear-market range, so don’t ride it down.
