12,267 BTC, worth around $1 billion, was just transferred from a U.S. government wallet to Coinbase Prime.
At the same time, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw another $485 million in outflows, and BTC dipped to an intraday low of $80,942—with the $80,000 mark now within striking distance.
But the market isn’t panicking at all—the prediction market puts the odds of “BTC holding above $80,000 today” at a whopping 92%.
My take: Every time the government wallet makes a move, it’s much ado about nothing. If they were really going to dump, they’d have done it already. Historically, these “the government is about to sell” scares have mostly marked bottoms. The real pressure is coming from continued ETF outflows, as institutions pull back.
Bottom line: $80,000 is a battleground where bulls and bears get chewed up. A break below it could trigger cascading liquidations, but $79,000–$80,000 is also a level where institutions are willing to buy. Don’t use leverage to bet on direction over the next few days—sitting on the sidelines is better than jumping in.
What do you think—will $80,000 hold?
