ZKUSDT perpetuals up 13% in 24 hours: after a surge in volume, a close above 0.01629 is still needed for confirmation

Bottom line: ZKUSDT perpetuals rose about 13.4% over 24 hours. Trading volume on the most recently closed 4-hour candlestick increased significantly, while the notional value of open interest rose about 38% in roughly five hours. However, the price is already near the 24-hour high of 0.016289, and the current 16:00–20:00 4-hour candlestick has yet to close. For now, this should be viewed only as a confirmation phase following a rise on increased volume; an intraday touch of the high should not be described as a confirmed breakout.

As of 17:28 Beijing time on October 11, 2026, the latest price of ZKUSDT on Binance USDⓈ-M Futures was approximately 0.015851 USDT, up 13.424% over 24 hours. The 24-hour range was 0.013730–0.016289, and 24-hour futures trading volume was approximately 64.1599 million USDT. These figures are all for perpetual futures; they do not represent net spot inflows, nor can they directly represent ZK's circulating market capitalization or FDV.

First, look at the candles that have already closed. The 4-hour candle from 12:00 to 16:00 Beijing time opened at 0.015167, reached a high of 0.016264, fell to a low of 0.014868, and closed at 0.015486, with a trading volume of approximately 15.7495 million USDT; the previous 4-hour candle had a trading volume of approximately 5.1179 million USDT. Volume did increase, but the close was below the high, indicating that selling pressure remains overhead. The latest closed 1-hour candle (16:00–17:00) closed at 0.015845, with a high of 0.016029. The 1-hour candle after 17:00 and the current 4-hour candle are still forming, so intraday readings should not be treated as confirmed closing prices.

The daily chart also needs clear boundaries. The latest closed daily candle opened at 0.014077, reached a high of 0.015725, fell to a low of 0.013140, and closed at 0.015172, with a trading volume of approximately 43.8662 million USDT; today's daily candle has not yet closed. Therefore, the current rise can be described as a short-term recovery accompanied by increased participation, but the intraday gain alone is not enough to declare a reversal in the daily trend.

Leverage is also heating up: from 12:00 to 17:00 Beijing time, the notional value of ZKUSDT open interest rose from approximately 7.1695 million USDT to 9.9038 million USDT, an increase of about 38.1%; the number of contracts rose from approximately 513.1 million to 625.2 million, an increase of about 21.8%. However, OI represents outstanding contracts, not net inflows of funds, and it does not tell us whether the new positions are predominantly long or short. The latest funding rate is approximately +0.000767% per 8 hours, only slightly positive and not, on its own, a reason to expect further gains.

In the short term, there are three key levels to watch:

1. 0.016289: the 24-hour high and the first confirmation level. A breakout would be better supported if a subsequently closed 1-hour or 4-hour candle holds above this level and volume does not contract significantly; an intraday spike above it does not count as confirmation.

2. 0.015486–0.015523: a reference zone around the closing levels of the two most recent 4-hour candles. If price consolidates above this zone, it would suggest that support remains after the rally.

3. 0.014868 and 0.014077: the former is the low of the latest closed 4-hour candle, while the latter is near the previous trading day's close. If a 4-hour candle closes below 0.014868, the recovery thesis following the high-volume rise would weaken, and a retest of the 0.014077 area would become a risk.

Therefore, what matters more now than chasing a 13.4% gain is whether the closing price can convincingly reclaim 0.016289, and whether OI continues to rise in a disorderly manner while price consolidates. The bullish thesis would be invalidated if price falls back below 0.014868 and support weakens. The cautious outlook would be invalidated if a high-volume 4-hour candle closes and holds above 0.016289, and a retest does not quickly fall back below that resistance level. ZK is highly volatile, and perpetual contracts also carry risks related to slippage, liquidation, and changes in funding rates.
