Trump hosts a “hold-the-coin” dinner again: are people buying TRUMP, or a ticket that will expire?

When you see “Trump + a hold-the-coin dinner,” don’t you feel that itch again? 😏 Some people buy coins to gain entry eligibility, while others simply wait for this round of buy orders to push the price up. With the same news, the exit timing for the two types of people could be completely different.

According to the official event page, the dinner is scheduled for November 22. Based on time-weighted hold-coin points, the top 185 participants qualify; the top 29 also receive VIP benefits. The longer you hold, the higher your points—so it may encourage contestants to hold coins ahead of time. But how long the event demand can last is worth pondering, perhaps even more than whether “Trump will attend.”

First, I check whether the market is buying it: at 18:55 Beijing time, Binance TRUMP perpetual is verified—price 2.073 USDT, rolling 24 hours down 2.81%. This window at least reminds me that “being in the news” doesn’t necessarily mean the price will rise; you also can’t attribute the full-day drawdown solely to the dinner. Right now, there isn’t enough evidence to say the pricing for this news hasn’t already happened.

Next, I watch two things for confirmation: whether wallets near the cutoff increase their coin holdings, and whether the price can hold after a rebound on higher volume. The first looks at added demand for holding coins—you shouldn’t just look at points that accumulate over time. The second tests whether the bid/off-take can continue. Only if the news is all over the place, yet each rebound fails to hold, I’ll lower my expectations for the trend to continue.

⚠️ The key detail is the 1:00 PM (EDT) snapshot on November 12: VIP holders must maintain holdings no less than the snapshot balance until the 22nd; otherwise, they may lose extra benefits. So you can’t simply say “everyone dumps after the snapshot”—the selling motivation could change in stages. If the rules are adjusted or the event is canceled, the original incentive to hold coins must be re-evaluated. The direction for BTC and ETH still needs to be judged separately.

💬 If you don’t fight for a dinner seat, will you wait for the buy orders to be validated—or focus more on the selling pressure after eligibility is confirmed?
