Bloomberg reported that OpenAI is seeking at least $30 billion in new funding at a pre-money valuation of about $1.4 trillion. The talks remain at an early stage and terms could change. The round is intended as bridge financing after OpenAI postponed its IPO plans. The company has confidentially filed to go public, but CEO Sam Altman said it will not pursue an IPO this year. OpenAI last raised $122 billion in March at an $852 billion valuation. If completed at the targeted valuation, the new round would put OpenAI’s private-market valuation back above Anthropic’s.
