I’ve divided the existing meme coins into four categories:

1. Yesterday’s Flowers

They appeared relatively early, the topic is now outdated, and their extensibility is limited; most of them are mined coins. It’s unlikely that in 2028 they will surpass the 2021 peak. Coins in this category include: ATOM, FIL, BSV, ICP, DOT, etc.

2. Business as Usual

These emerged before 2021 and have a certain market share. The projects are still actively operating and developing. The expected price performance of these coins will track the overall market, with a total market cap likely increasing by 1–2 times. Coins in this category include: LINK, CRV, DOGE, XRP, XLM, HBAR, etc.

3. Advanced Productive Forces

These appeared in 2021 and after, representing (widely recognized) advanced productive forces and the future direction of development. The ceilings of these coins are higher than those of the “Business as Usual” category, and they are likely to grow stronger during a bull market. Coins in this category include: SOL, SEI, SUI, LIT, PUMP, ONDO, PENDLE, ENA, HYPE, NEAR, UNI, AAVE, etc.

4. The Dark Horse Prince

They emerged in 2024–2026. They don’t belong to the mainstream narrative at first, but they gradually move into mainstream view. They have substantial room for future development, but there’s also a chance of failure—depending on whether they can become part of the mainstream narrative and continue to be a hot topic.

Coins in this category include: PONS, AERO, VVV, TAO, ZAMA, ETHFI, Niu Lai, RE, BIO, etc.

As a steady, leveraged long trader, my main positions are in categories 2 and 3, trying to balance in category 4 as well, and doing my best to avoid category 1.
