Binance isn’t changing a single account name this time—it’s changing where funds are supposed to go.

Starting September 29, non-stock crypto assets in the Funding Account will be migrated to the Spot Account in batches; the migration is expected to last until January 2027. After that, the Funding Account will be renamed to the Stocks Account, used only for the settlement of stocks and stock options.

What you really need to remember is three things: (1) funding accounts will stop accepting on-chain deposits; (2) stock settlement will retain only six assets—USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U, and BNB; and (3) for non-stock assets that you don’t actively manage, Binance plans to automatically migrate them in batches starting January 2027, and the announcement states that the total asset balance will not be affected.

This isn’t “assets disappearing”—it’s a separation of account responsibilities. If you commonly use Pay, Convert, P2P, or the API, you should especially check your default funding source and account references.
