NEAR’s currency rises 80% within a week — and the reason is worth knowing
NEAR Intents — a cross-network exchange system of the Near Protocol — has surpassed $29.3 billion in total cumulative trading volume.
Over 7 days, NEAR rose 78% from about $2.41 to $4.29, while the broader cryptocurrency market rose by only around 6%.
This surge coincided with a push toward privacy; permanent futures contract deposits on near.com have become private by default, and the ZODL wallet of Zcash ranked third in trading volume via Intents, with $3.8 million in just one day.
Bitwise analyst Camran Khosravi believes that Near and Zcash are “complements” to each other. But he added an important caveat: total value locked (TVL) could simply increase because the value of the ZEC coins within the system rises, without any need for new deposits.
So, it’s important to remember this point before letting the numbers alone create a misleading impression.
