Wu Shuo learned that the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issued its Turkey 2026 mutual evaluation report, which states that Turkey has established a licensing framework covering virtual asset service providers (VASPs) and has adopted a risk-based approach to AML/CFT supervision. However, the relevant regulatory framework was still in the implementation stage during the evaluation period. The report notes that virtual asset service providers have a relatively good overall understanding of money laundering risks and AML obligations, but there are still shortcomings in areas such as identifying terrorist financing risks and reporting suspicious transactions. Turkey has been listed for enhanced follow-up and supervision procedures.
