September 23 Gold Evening Market Analysis

Breaking Down the Key Factors Affecting the Evening Session

1、Geopolitical sentiment cools down; buyers lack sufficient momentum
The Middle East situation is gradually easing overall. Diplomatic efforts from multiple parties continue to advance, and the probability of large-scale conflict breaking out in the near term is lower. As a result, market risk-aversion sentiment gradually fades. Gold has lost supportive incentives to keep pushing higher, and the strength of rebounds is limited.

However, it’s important to note: regional local friction risks have not been fully eliminated, and key shipping/transportation risks still remain. If any sudden geopolitical news emerges tonight, safe-haven buying will quickly return and effectively cap the downside room for a major drop in gold, while support below remains relatively resilient.

2、The Fed’s hawkish expectations continue to weigh on gold
The U.S. inflation data remains resilient, so rate-cut expectations are delayed again. Fed officials continue to send hawkish signals. The dollar and U.S. Treasury yields are hovering at high levels. In a high-interest-rate environment, the carrying cost of holding non-yielding gold rises, which keeps suppressing the overall rebound ceiling.

In the evening U.S. session, market liquidity becomes more concentrated and active. Treasury market volatility, the dollar trend, and Fed remarks are the core variables tonight. They are very likely to trigger gold’s rapid “position-squaring/purging” moves and repeated range-bound oscillations, increasing the risk of larger swings during the evening.

Technical outlook for the evening

The daily structure is clearly bearish. During the day, rallies met resistance and fell back; highs keep shifting lower and lower. Price continues to trade below the short-term moving averages. Each rebound is met with moving-average pressure and associated sell-off. At present, there are no signs on the chart that the market has stabilized or reversed. Overall, it remains a weak, range-bound repair process at lower levels.

Downside room is limited, but bulls lack momentum. In the evening, the more likely path is a dip-to-bottom-and-rebound pattern with repeated range fluctuations.

Precision trading strategy for the evening

Look for pullback stabilization in the 4295—4308 support zone to set up short longs
Defense/stop: below 4280
Rebound targets: 4345 → 4365 → 4385

Don’t chase shorts or guess a one-way move tonight. Use the highs and lows within the range to repeatedly position. Since news-driven volatility can be fast, make sure you manage protection/defense properly and stay steady and prudent.
