📢 Binance’s Funding Account renamed to a Stocks Account: Account structure upgrade
To simplify the account structure and improve the asset management experience, Binance will gradually transfer crypto assets from the Funding Account to the Spot Account starting from 2026-09-29. The migration is expected to run until January 2027; specific dates will be announced separately. After the migration period ends, the Funding Account will be renamed to the Stocks Account and will be used only for stock and stock options settlement.
📌 Effective time: From 2026-09-29 (UTC)
📌 Scope of impact:
• Starting 2026-09-29, the Funding Account will no longer support on-chain deposits; deposits and withdrawals of other crypto assets will be handled only via the Spot Account
• A new “One-Click Migration” button will be added to the Funding Account. Assets that are not actively migrated will be automatically migrated in batches to the Spot Account by the system starting January 2027
• The Stocks Account supports 6 settlement assets: USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U, BNB
• Settlement sources such as Binance Card, gift cards, Binance Pay, limit orders and recurring orders from Auto-Instant (闪兑限价订单与定期订单), C2C, etc. will be adjusted accordingly
📌 What users should pay attention to:
• We recommend upgrading the Binance app to the latest version to use “One-Click Migration”; older versions do not support active migration
• The migration does not affect total asset value or fund safety, and historical transaction records will keep their original labels
• After removing the Funding Account as a payment source, any recurring send plans that used to pay from the Funding Account will stop executing; you will need to set them up again
• We recommend updating API account references from Funding to Spot
⚠️ Impacts and risks:
• After 2027-01, advertisements that have not been migrated to the C2C-dedicated account will be automatically closed
• During the migration period, related features tied to the Funding Account will be gradually shut down; make sure to update your payment sources for any affected plans in time
