In the preceding period:
• Average time per block: 576 seconds
• Estimated hashrate speed: ~950 EH/s
• The adjustment occurred at block 967,680
The blocks being mined are coming faster than Bitcoin’s 10-minute target.
The protocol automatically responded by making the next block harder to find.
Higher difficulty means more computational effort is required to earn the same block reward. For miners, this increases competition.
