Reuters found that AI company Anthropic covertly opened a bio lab where it is engaged in “drug discovery” and plans to conduct experiments on humans. The company has moved beyond purely computer modeling of viruses and drugs and is preparing to transition to real-world research. Previously, Anthropic acknowledged that its Claude model was used to create more dangerous versions of bird flu and the plague, as well as new toxins and poisons.
