Search interest is rising, but it doesn’t mean funds are adding positions: the two “thermometers” of $NEAR

This afternoon, in Binance Web3’s search rankings, $NEAR provided a very typical research sample: the page shows that in the past ~24 hours, trading volume was about $5.66 million, liquidity was about $1.99 million, and the top ten addresses held about 27.5% of positions. At the same time, an event tag indicating “marked fund de-leveraging/selling” also appeared on the page.

This is not a conclusion about the project; it’s a reminder to break market “heat” into its components and look at them separately.

1)Search volume measures attention, not fund direction
If it’s frequently searched, it may be driven by technical updates, community discussion, or price fluctuations. But attention can arrive quickly and leave just as quickly. What you really need to cross-check is net inflow, spot depth, and the trade structure across different time windows.

2)Trading volume should be read together with liquidity
A trading volume of about $5.66 million corresponds to liquidity of about $1.99 million, indicating the market isn’t devoid of trading. However, when the行情 (market conditions) shifts, whether the depth remains stable still needs to be tested separately. Don’t equate trading volume directly with “any price can be filled smoothly.”

3)Event tags are useful as a starting point to verify
“Marked fund de-leveraging/selling” doesn’t mean all participants are selling, and it can’t predict subsequent price action. It’s more like a signal that needs validation. You can continue monitoring whether the address behavior remains consistent, whether there’s concentrated inflow to exchanges, and whether any unlocks or ecosystem events are affecting it.

The long-term value of Layer1 projects usually depends on combined changes among developers, applications, users, and the economic model—not a single day’s search ranking. $NEAR still faces market volatility, liquidity changes, cross-chain asset and contract risks; in extreme cases, a large drawdown—even to zero—can occur. The above is only for information organization and does not constitute investment advice.

When search heat and on-chain fund direction diverge, which one will you trust?
