Circle says its platform can use BTC as collateral to borrow USDC.

Hold your cheers first: this isn’t a mass-market entry. The official wording is for eligible Circle Mint LLC customers only, using Digital Asset-Backed Borrowing; New York customers are directly excluded.

The flow is: deposit BTC, mint 1:1 cirBTC, then use platforms like Morpho—third-party lending markets—to borrow. The interest rates, collateral ratios, and liquidation lines are determined by the order book, not by Circle issuing额度.

My take: this looks more like an institutional treasury keeping BTC, while pulling a bit of USD liquidity along the way—there’s almost no immediate benefit to retail traders’ screens. Don’t treat the topic as “another reason to chase longs.” I’m not pursuing this narrative; I’ll keep waiting for a cleaner pullback on the Binance book.
