Yan Wentao was born in 1991, graduated from Fudan University, and joined Hillhouse Venture in 2020. Previously, he worked on projects including MiniMax, Zhipu AI, and ByteDance. His arrival coincides with DeepSeek’s intensive push for capital moves. DeepSeek is finalizing its second round of fundraising, planning to raise RMB 50 billion, with a pre-money valuation of RMB 500 billion.
