Iván Acosta, Director of the Board of the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VenAmCham), stated that Venezuela has «everything ahead» and that «the conditions are being put in place» for the economy and working conditions to improve.
The Director of the Board of the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VenAmCham), Iván Acosta, said that the health of the labor market in the country is not in the best condition at this time due to informality, the black market, transactional employment of little value, and a deteriorated wage.
In that regard, he commented that for there to be an increase in employment, there must be a revival of investment, improvements in technology, and training for workers.
He stated that Venezuela’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) per capita is around US$4,200 per year, while Chile’s is US$16,000 per capita per year.
Iván Acosta said that «we cannot improve the condition of our workers if we are not more productive; we have to find a way to be more productive».
He said that the change in the country «is not a temporary situation; it is structural, not circumstantial; it is permanent» and stressed that Venezuela has «everything ahead of it; the conditions are being put in place».
«The conditions are being built, are being created, are being applied,» he added on Unión Radio, noting that this December «will be much better than last year’s».
