🇺🇸 🇮🇷 On September 22, the Trump administration proposed investing $5 billion in a new fund to help Middle Eastern countries rebuild energy infrastructure damaged by the conflict with Iran. The fund, which will be called PACT (Partners Alliance for Cooperation and Trust), aims to reduce the region’s dependence on the Strait of Hormuz for transporting oil and gas. The administration is seeking equal contributions from partners, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, and Jordan, in order to reach a total of $10 billion. Negotiations are currently underway.
