Agora obtains OCC conditional approval: trust bank not open yet

Set the threshold on the table first: for this OCC approval, Agora needs at least US$10 million in Tier 1 capital, and must also keep enough liquidity for 180 days of operating expenses; if the fundraising isn’t raised within 12 months or the bank can’t open within 18 months, the approval is void.

“Preliminary conditional approval” ≠ being able to open an account. Before final authorization, the OCC can modify or revoke it at any time; the customer only serves institutions and companies—there was never a door for retail investors in the first place.

What’s really not guaranteed is “bank opening”—AUSD has to be brought over from Bermuda, and there are checks before the bank can open. Don’t treat the headline as a green light to conduct business tomorrow.

I’ll log it first as a license progress bar moving forward by one step—don’t hear it as “can open accounts tomorrow.”
