Ondo Finance entered a dispute over control of the company following the death of its founder, Nathan Allman, a disagreement that places the future of the platform backed by the symbol $ONDO at the heart of a state of uncertainty.
The dispute centers on the powers of the board of directors, the rights of the heirs, and who effectively runs the company, amid questions about the validity of the institutional decisions made during the transition period.
And the dispute’s tentacles have extended to legal proceedings in two U.S. states—Delaware and Hawaii—where stakeholders are vying for control and for the legitimacy of the steps taken during that sensitive phase.
And the stakes are high: Ondo has recorded about $4 billion in tokenized assets, along with more than 430 stocks and exchange-traded funds represented as tokens, with the locked-in value exceeding the one-billion-dollar threshold.
However, the outcomes of these proceedings have not yet been decided, and the details of how control of the company will evolve—and who will lead it in the next phase—remain uncertain.
