Honestly, with 10 years Iâve been in this world, what makes people profit isnât the smartest one.
The smartest ones usually are the ones who die the fastest.
I once knew an IT kidâreally smart. Knows charts, understands on-chain, knows the narrative too. Every day he switches coins. Today AI, tomorrow RWA, the day after meme. His analysis is always right. But his portfolio keeps turning red. Why? Because he canât just stay put.
Every time thereâs a tiny green candle, he enters. Every time thereâs a little FUD, he exits. His brain keeps spinning. In the end, itâs not the market that outplays himâhe ends up outplaying himself.
Itâs different from my friend, whoâs not that smart. When asked what the difference is between L1 and L2, he gets confused too. But he has one stupid rule that he sticks to with all his might: be able to eat enough.
He only bought BTC and ETH in 2020. Not much. He wrote in his phone notes: "If it becomes X, withdraw this much to settle the house debt. Let the rest be." Thatâs it. After that, he didnât look at the chart every hour. He focused on work, focused on family.
When 2021 exploded, the smart ones from before were still running around looking for the top. They were already calm. In the 2022 bear market, the smart ones who were yelling "crypto scam" were still calm. Because their target isnât to be the smartest on Twitter; their target is only to have enough.
Hey you who just joined, listen to this:
In crypto, being smart is a trap.
If you feel smart, youâll feel like you can guess the top and bottom. Youâll use leverage. Youâll go all-in because youâre "sure." Thatâs where you start to lose.
If youâre calm, you donât need to guess anything. You only need to know 3 things:
Is the money you put in cold money or rice money? If itâs rice money, youâll never be at peace.
What are you putting it in for? To buy a motorcycle, or to become a big shot tomorrow? If itâs to become a big shot tomorrow, youâll never have enough.
When will you stop? This is something influencers never teach.
Being smart keeps pushing you to enter. Being calm makes you know when itâs done.
Iâve seen a lot of smart people who are gone now. And Iâve seen a lot of calm people who are still here. Still able to eat, still able to have coffee, still able to laugh while watching the chart go up and down.
So if youâre a beginner, donât rush to become the smartest first. Aim to be the calmest first.
This market isnât a competition to see who has the best analysis. Itâs a competition of who can hold their breath the longest.
And a long breath is only something people who know when enough is enough have.
What do you think? Team smart who keeps spinning around, or team calm who has enough to eat?
