According to people familiar with the matter, MagicChip Technology, led by Chen Tianrun, is set to complete a new round of financing with a scale possibly on the order of 1 billion yuan, and its valuation is expected to jump to nearly 10 billion yuan—just under a month since the previous round, when its valuation was still 4 billion yuan.
This founder was born in 2000. He is a PhD from the School of Computer Science at Zhejiang University, supervised by Academician Pan Yunhe of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has published more than 50 papers in top conferences and top journals. The company began with consumer-grade 3D printing; in 2021 it launched its entrepreneurial journey, and then it fully pivoted to 4D world models and spatial intelligence.
A luxurious investment lineup: state-owned capital firms such as Sequoia Capital China and Zhejin Capital have entered the fray. Huawei’s Hubble invested as early as the initial stage and has since worked deeply with their partners around the Ascend NPU. Semiconductor investment players such as Sinokingyuan and Unichip Microelectronics have also participated, along with industry players including Legend Holdings, the Cuipei Fund under Bilibili, and JinkoSolar. From the end of 2025 through this August, the company has completed four rounds of financing, and nearly every round has brought in new strategic industry investors.
On the technical roadmap, MoCore Technology adopts a purely implicit architecture. It does not reconstruct the world at the pixel level or in explicit geometric layers; instead, it predicts future states through high-dimensional abstract representations, enabling the AI to remember the scene’s long-term state. With its joint release of MoWorld-4D together with Huawei Cloud, it can achieve up to 50 frames per second of real-time inference. The overall inference cost is only 30% of that of an imported GPU solution of the same scale. The company has also completed its restructuring into a shareholding system, paving the way for subsequent capital market processes.
Looking at the industry track, world models are increasingly viewed as the core engine for physical AGI. Overseas, Li Fei-Fei’s World Labs is valued at about US$5 billion a year, and AMI—led by Yann LeCun—raised about US$1.03 billion in its seed round. Tencent, Alibaba, and ByteDance have also jumped in. MoCore Technology has already advanced implementation in scenarios such as industrial digital twins, embodied intelligence training, and urban-rural planning and cultural tourism. From a valuation of 4 billion to nearly 10 billion, what capital is repricing is the potential for models to break through and become industrial infrastructure. Whether this path can truly work ultimately depends on whether deployment can deliver.
