Last night, the U.S. stock market had just one main storyline: semiconductors surged across the board. The Nasdaq rose 1.69%, and the S&P 500 climbed 1.14%—all carried by semiconductors and AI hardware.
$INTC rose 7.67%, once touching $111 intraday. Among the chip names, it was the strongest. Just a couple of days ago, semiconductors were being sold off, but yesterday they collectively moved back into the market. Intel led the gains, followed by Marvell, AMD, and Nvidia. The takeaway from the tape is clear: expectations for AI computing power are being re-upped.
$AMDB rose 6.36% to close at $545. The CFO raised the company’s AI market outlook, and CLSA lifted its target price to $710. That’s still a long way from the current level—let’s first see whether $545 can hold as support.
$COIN rose 5.75% and $MSTR gained 4.81%, but BTC was up only 1.3%. Crypto stocks are outperforming the coin itself—either risk appetite is back, or someone is positioning early. It’s more reliable to read the signals than to guess the direction.
China’s A-shares were also not weak today: the Shanghai Composite rose 1.04% to above 3916, and the ChiNext rose 2.11%. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index was 24723, up slightly by 0.67%.
BTC $77,319 rose 1.3%, ETH $2,478 rose 1.9%—nothing too dramatic.
One highlight for next week: $MU , Micron’s earnings report on September 30. It already jumped 5.5% yesterday ahead of time. Whether memory can take over the lead for semiconductors—let’s wait for its release.
The above does not constitute investment advice; it’s only a record of market observations.
