$MTL This is something, for sure.

On the 15m timeframe, it jumped directly by 1.3%. Volume surged to 25x, with a Z value of 3.13. This isn’t normal breathing—someone is knocking.

The key is OI: on 15m, +3.71%; on 1h, +3.63%. A notional 139K U came in. It’s at the 99.6th percentile—second highest in the whole pool. Price is rising and OI is rising too. That’s a classic sign of newly added leveraged long positions entering, and not the kind that fires once and runs away. It’s been extending across several cycles.

Active trade imbalance is -1.7%, with buy/sell ratio at 0.97, meaning we’re not in the stage of blindly chasing longs yet. The sellers haven’t completely laid down either. But over 24h, turnover is 15.37M, and the order-book depth is there—it’s not like an air pump that you can move with one push and then all the volume disappears.

MTL’s market cap in the first place isn’t that big. With OI abnormality pushed to this level, it’s also not far from its own historical extreme range. This structure is either because someone knew something in advance, or because leveraged positions were stacked to a certain extent and then started stepping on each other.

Just keep an eye on it. If OI keeps adding but price doesn’t follow, then that’s when it gets interesting.
