Bitcoin witnesses a third reorganization of a single block within 4 weeks
A notable technical event on the network #bitcoin : two valid blocks were found at nearly the same height, before the competing network ultimately favored the chain with the greater cumulative proof of work.
The other block became an Orphaned Block and was excluded from the main chain.
Does this mean there is a problem with Bitcoinโ€™s security? Not necessarily.
A single block reorganization can occur naturally when two miners find blocks within a close time frame.
But the event repeating for the third time in a short period makes me closely monitor the distribution of mining power and the behavior of the hash rate.
Bitcoinโ€™s strength is not in the absence of such events, but in the networkโ€™s ability to resolve them in a decentralized way according to clear rules.
