Vitalik Buterin proposed to include EIP-8288 in an Ethereum upgrade after Hegota. The initiative provides for combining cryptographic proofs before transactions enter a block. In his assessment, this would reduce gas costs for private operations with protection against quantum attacks from roughly 10 million to tens of thousands of units. The solution would also make it easier to support new types of digital signatures, the programmer believes.
