Where’s the speed in making money off crypto compared to white-hat hacking / getting paid? !
There’s an update on the 4,000 BTC that were withdrawn from Liquid.
The other party returned 3,400 of them, and kept 598.5 as a reward (possibly), worth about $47 million USD.
The issue is that nobody agreed to this bounty in advance.
A normal bug bounty works like this: you report the vulnerability, I assess it, both sides negotiate the price. This time, they took all the money first, applied the patch, and then returned part of it—keeping the rest for themselves.
Ledger’s CTO already said that white hats don’t drain the bridge first and then ask you to contact them on-chain.
Is it still in time to become a white-hat? 🧐
