$XMR This move is a bit interesting.

The price broke above the upper boundary of the range of the past nearly 20 five-minute candles, and the trading volume is also at a normal level but 1.9x higher. In just 15 minutes, it climbed 0.93%. More importantly, OI is rising in sync—open interest is moving up in both the 15-minute and 1-hour windows. The notional changes increased by 525K and 560K respectively. It looks like real, cash-and-carry leverage long positions are entering the market—not some kind of fake breakout that’s just drawn lines.

But don’t get carried away. There’s a detail that’s pretty glaring: the active trade imbalance is -15.1%, and the buy/sell ratio is only 0.74. In plain terms, while the price is being pushed upward, the side that’s actively taking orders is actually skewed toward selling. This suggests that the spike was most likely driven by resting orders being swept up, not by the main force genuinely pushing in with real money.

OI abnormal percentile has already climbed to 98%, ranking third across the entire pool. Chasing here requires caution. It’s near its own historical extreme zone, and multiple consecutive cycles show abnormal movement continuing. That could mean the start of a new uptrend—or it could be the final leg of a bull trap.

Anyway, I’m planning to see whether this price can hold. If it holds, I’ll consider following; if it doesn’t, I’ll just watch it perform. Contract traders, weigh the leverage yourselves.
